How's this for "small world" with an extra dash of "striking coincidence"?
When I saw Shannon at the lake, I was actually about to leave. The sun had long fallen over the horizon and there was barely any light left. But I decided to see what I could make with her.
And she doesn't think she has a good smile.
A couple quick shots later and I have her bring up her Instagram so I can search for my account and add her as a follower. Only to discover she was already... already following me. She didn't look familiar and I had no recollection of photographing her. And said as much.
That's when she mentioned her brother. And a fish.
Daniel.
"Wait... Shannon."
"How'd you know?"
I don't have many followers on Instagram, and I had half as many then as I do now, so I noticed when Shannon and their mother started following me.
"Your brother is Daniel. I don't photograph a lot of men, so mentioning the fish..." And then we got to talking a little bit.
So that's the "small world" part. What about the "dash of striking coincidence"? These shots were taken on Thursday, July 13, 2023. I photographed Daniel on Thursday, July 14, 2022.
This also isn't the first time I've photographed a sibling to a previous random encounter. It also happened with Emily (sister to Elizabeth) and Day (sister to the man in this couple).
Check out her Instagram.
