Mother & daughter

This I would say is probably the only time I've intentionally used one subject to get another.

I saw them in the spillway parking lot as I drove by on my way to the opposite corner of the dam. Getting out, I noticed two Asian women walking by that I had zero hope of catching.

So walking along the dam, I turned my attention to the water, looking to see if I could make something useful as the next flag page for the next magazine issue.

Getting to the spillway is when I see these two coming down the hill. Mom with the pink hat and bodysuit while the daughter was wearing a black halter and jeans. Daughter was hanging back while the mom raced through on her e-bike. I wanted the mother more, honestly, but caught the daughter's attention first.

When the mother turned around to come back toward us, I walked directly toward her, engaging her before she had a chance to engage me. Putting my intentions out in the open. Photos of her on her e-bike.

Then getting shots of the two together to, again, make it clear my intentions.

As I'm walking away, I look over my shoulder and see the daughter laying on the rocks. It was too perfect to pass up.
