Kansas City Renaissance Festival - 2026 - Day 6

Monday. Columbus Day. Took the day off from work so my wife could tag along. She was more interested in "people watching" and watching several of the shows, so I walked with her and then lapped the grounds looking for subjects.

First stop, though, was the Three Lions Stage where Bawdily Harm was next up to perform. But first, quick stop to Absinthe & Alchemy. My wife checked out the flavors while both of us were talking to the vendor. She settled on one lap back around and get on the way out.

And I had the chance to get the last of the women working there:

Annika is the only woman performing with Bawdily Harm. And... she's getting married the week after the Ren Fest ends this year.

For last year's last day, I lamented how difficult it was to find people to photograph through much of the day. Today being Columbus Day, which some jurisdictions no longer treat as a school holiday, there were a lot of kids groups around the grounds for field trips - like... 2 dozen school busses in the parking lot, if I recall correctly. So knowing there were a LOT of young people about made things interesting and I found myself questioning whether a possible subject I saw was an adult or just a teenager.

So for much of the walk around the grounds, I didn't photograph anyone. At least not until we got around to the time for the fire show approaching. My wife wandered toward the jewelry shop right off where they perform, and that allowed me to catch her.

I lapped the grounds again during the fire show, then went and sat with my wife afterward. She wanted cotton candy before leaving, plus we intended to go back to Absinthe & Alchemy - thankfully both weren't far from each other - which gave one more shot at finding people to photograph.

First up was this woman, sitting on the steps leading up to the start of the zip line.

And then there's Shalee who decided to surprise me with some posing. Like with Shai'lyn, she says she has never modeled before. I think I need to change that...

And alongside Shalee is Stormy.
