Mehri
Summer solstice arrived and Kansas City seemingly went from spring to full-on summer in not even a week. Almost as if Nature ramped up the heat like it had been procrastinating on a deadline. Daytime highs going from mid-80s to mid-90s. Humidity driving the heat index into the 100s. And the concrete jungle of downtown Kansas City making things feel worse still when a wind wasn't blowing through.
All combined, that was making finding people to photograph a little more interesting. Don't mind the slowdown, though, since that keeps me from having a huge backlog, like the queue of scheduled posts I have on Instagram.
This was about end of night for me around the City Market, walking on the bridge over the tracks to get back to the Riverfront. As we closed distance, I couldn't tell if Mehri was looking down or just exhausted from the heat. But the floral dress was eye-catching and amazing on her, so I went for it.
And she decided to have fun with it as well. Like with Su last weekend, I gave her minimal posing direction to start with. Everything else was her.
