Driving into Antioch Park this evening, I saw her setting up her camera and... running away from it, obviously trying to do some kind of self portraits. I've seen others do that before - though typically with a cell phone. Chandra and Nomi, for example, were trying to do something along those lines when I gave them an impromptu mini-shoot.

It's always better to let someone else take the shots so you can just have fun in front of the camera instead of worrying about what the end result will look like.

So I parked and grabbed my Z5 with my best portrait lens. While I have been relying on my Zfc for street portraits lately, something told me to not use that here. She probably would've turned me away had I walked up to her with that, since from a distance it looks like a point and shoot or a tourist's camera. Even though I've shown here just how capable it can be - starting with the mini-shoot with Jade last year, along with every other photo I've shown here so far in 2025.

Her red jacket stood out this gloomy late afternoon, and her matching lipstick was a great accent to her winter pale skin. She'd never been to Antioch Park before, so this was a great chance to also explore and introduce her to it.

Mary is also a working photographer, so be sure to check her out:
