I've mentioned in the past that I see a lot of people at the various locations I visit trying to take selfies for social media or have a photo shoot with their cell phones. And that even enlisting the help of someone else to take the shots for you can still exhibit lackluster results that just leaves you wanting - e.g., Zin.
I first saw Jessica from a distance on one of the paved paths at Antioch Park, her pink sweater standing out plainly from a distance. I was walking a different direction, but one that had me circling around toward the Rose Garden, where I would see her setting up at the gazebo trying to take selfies with her cell phone. So when I was close enough to interact with her, I offered my assistance.
Even just with your cell phone, having someone else controlling the camera is almost always going to net far better results. And an experienced photographer is going to net better results still if you're willing to be posed.
