Initially I saw her outside the PNC Plaza and tried one of my usual lines with her, saying she looked amazing and asking to photograph her. But she turned me down, so I reiterated she looked amazing and kept going North along Main, crossing over to the West side of the street at the PNC Plaza crosswalk.

In front of the Midland Theater, I hear someone calling out from behind me. I look around and see her coming up the East side of Main along Consentino's. I ask if she's calling for me, and she crossed the street to tell me she changed her mind.

So that's a first. No, seriously, in the hundreds of encounters I've had, that's never happened before. After a few shots at the Midland, I asked if she had time to spare and turned it into an impromptu photo shoot.

She's from Ecuador. Grad student as well.

My only significant issue with this encounter was her reluctance to look at the camera. Despite me saying multiple times over to do so, she didn't actually consistently do that till I pointed out directly she needed to. I don't mind self-direction - I encourage it, actually - but it does need to include you looking at the camera, not constantly averting your eyes from it.
