Anabelle
This was a bit of a test. On Fridays for dinner, I make a pick-up order at Rice House off 87th and Lackman. Sar-Ko-Par is right across the street. So with a little time to kill and the sun going down ever sooner as we slide toward the Autumnal Equinox and Winter Solstice, I decided to pull out my flash and walk the park looking for someone to try to photograph.
Enter Anabelle.
Not the greatest result, but it better emphasized a point I learned when I had Anna back at Kaw Point with the lit-up cityscape behind her: flash will drown out the background. So to avoid doing that while still getting a competent exposure, the harsh and instantaneous light of a speedlight is not the way to go. But carrying around the wand lights I used in my experiment with Brita and Meverly isn't all that great either.
So the much shorter wand light I have on order (Amazon affiliate link) will hopefully fit the bill while still being somewhat easy to carry around. We'll see...
