The momentum continues... This was helped along by a 7-day streak and an 8-day streak.
Realizing those streaks occurred surprised me, too, since... finding people to photograph generally is not easy. Despite appearances to the contrary, it isn't.
With street portraiture, your confidence alone will determine how easy a time you have. Which is the Catch-22: confidence can only come with experience, but getting experience requires some degree of confidence.
Such as the confidence to compliment a random person on the street. And the confidence to then use that as a segue to photographing them. Such as with Andrea. She couldn't stop playing with her hair while I walked beside her. Denim skirt, black tank and... fucking hot, in my opinion.
Anne-Marie continues my adventure inside Union Station. The strapless dress showing off her tanned body and long legs gave the impression she was there for a dinner date.
Speaking of, my walk to my car from Union Station that same night gave me a chance to catch this issue's cover features, Hannah and Lanee, on the overpass near Freight House. Not the greatest spot to be photographing them, but location is the constant dilemma with street photography.
Plenty of times I've regretted the location, passed up engaging someone because of where they were, or waited till they were at a better location before engaging them. But so far I absolutely cannot say I've regretted the women I've photographed.
Such as Nora. Sweat jacket and jeans since it was a cooler evening as she walked through a familiar alley. Not a great location, honestly, but her adorable demeanor more than makes up for it.
As you're moving toward the end of the issue, Paola will be hard to miss. Sporting an adorable combination featuring a skirt that shows off her amazing legs in the right pose.
Elise finishes out this issue. She was a cheerleader at Wichita State and captain of her cheer team as she helped lead them to becoming National Champions in 2025. And with a very athletic figure and plenty of confidence in front of the camera, I do wonder how well she'd do as an athletic fashion model.
