2025 - No. 9

This round starts off first parking at the Kauffman Center, in large part so I'm not walking along the Riverfront Heritage Trail completely exposed - since there's almost nothing for shade along it. But I decided to hop onto the streetcar and head to the City Market. Good thing I did as we start off this issue finding the ultra-adorable Kacey before going back around to the Power & Light District to find Cayley in all-black, Teagan in a black camisole tucked into a denim skirt, and Ra in a gorgeous full-length dress.
The Sunday that followed had me walking the Riverfront trail in 90s heat, no clouds, to the City Market. Because I decided to park at the Riverfront rather than finding parking downtown. Not a great decision, but at least I didn't make an even worse decision of not seeing if Lex would let me photograph her.
Next was Lara, a new vendor at the City Market flea market with very interesting wood furniture to check out while checking her out in her denim dress. Then Katie and Trinie both in white, though Katie's dress looks to be off-white, at least where she was standing. And Jordy was going a little more casual with a black tank and gray skirt.
Last issue featured the year's first threepeat with Macie, and this issue features the second. Valeria makes another appearance at the Riverfront, this time as dusk is in its final minutes. Crossing paths allowed me to steer her toward a small night photo experiment with a new wand light.
And next to Valeria is this issue's cover feature. I came across Alara at the City Market as both of us were looking for the restroom there. Black tank. Denim cut-offs. A quick intermission after which we met in the hallway, she had just agreed to let me photograph her...
When her mom called...
A later visit to the City Market finds Jillian in a vertical-striped button-up romper suit with boots, along with Rae in an eye-catching white knit top with a black skirt that perfectly complimented her slightly pale complexion and dark brown hair.
Lil Wayne was in town at the T-Mobile Center on Aug 26, so it was a chance to find more concertgoers like with the Ghost concert featured last issue. But... it definitely wasn't nearly as fruitful, only for the lack of fashion variety among those going. Then Samantha rounded the corner in her purple top with a plunging neckline, black skirt, and fishnets.
Aliyah finishes out this issue outside the box office for Kansas City Live! with a very hot combination featuring a black bodysuit, black...ish denim shorts, and red boots. A very fortunate encounter coming after missing the streetcar when a glitch in their kiosk made me think the wait time was a lot longer than it actually was...
