2025 - No. 5

This issue along with the last few have come together very quickly. So why aren't they being released nearly as quick? I post to Instagram only once per day and have a substantial backlog. Plus it buys time to tweak everything and figure out final layouts.

Aud was the easy choice for the cover feature. Proprietor for Somewhat Aud Finds and one of the vendors at the City Market flea market on a hot and very windy Sunday. I usually don't go for the vendors, but she was wholesome and adorable. That the wind meant she she had to literally hold down the fort gave an interesting new setup for a shot.

I wish I could plan shots like that. Anyway...

And featured here is also a new model, Su. When I asked to photograph her, I was not expecting to get... about 20 workable shots in less than 2 minutes. But I just gave her starting direction and she just... went with it. Just incredible, she looked incredible, and it's always a welcome moment having someone that confident in front of the camera with that high of an ability to self-direct. How was she not already a working model?

Starting out this issue is a run-in with a new photographer, Noelia. I always enjoy chatting with photographers whenever I encounter one. Even better when I can turn it around and get some photos of them.

And like last issue, we again have a double-feature: Macie. She works at the River Market Tattoo Co., and I caught her outside on a smoke break. First in a leopard print dress hugging her figure, then again with an all-black tube dress that was similarly slim-fitting.

And along with the mini-shoot with Su is also another mini-shoot with Mehri. Her floral dress looked amazing on her. And like with Su, when I asked her for photos, she just... went with it. Minimal posing direction. Everything else was just her. I love it when that happens!

And toward rounding out this issue, I started going more into the heart of downtown over being in and around the City Market, finding Eliene and Olivia looking stunning for a night out - and Olivia looking like she got a bit of sun earlier that Saturday. Perhaps I need to be doing more of that in the future.
