2025 - No. 3

Another very quick turnaround on gathering shots for an issue, but not as quick as with the previous issue due to a lot of rain coming through around Memorial Day, along with Memorial Day.

We start out with a very productive Sunday afternoon around the City Market with Mackenzie sitting on the edge of a brick planter in a somewhat unusual position. There's also Camille with her needlepoint. And Sam looking... not at all ready to be photographed. But I always love the purely casual look.

And this was a relatively easy cover feature to select, though there was still some back and forth. Nim and Merrit were sipping espresso martinis sitting in a familiar spot along Delaware. So I made it a feature of the shots I took of them. Nim is in the foreground with Merrit out of focus in the background. First cover, as well, featuring two women together instead of one solo.

Veelakh was a very lucky shot due to a very fortunate breeze gust that forced her to move her hair out of her face. And from that same afternoon is Maddie and her sparkly headphones and a pose I'm very glad I remembered to ask of her before walking too far away.

Rishika makes a return as well. She's a med student at Kansas City University and wanted some professional shots for LinkedIn and the like, along with some casuals. So be sure to check her out in her very hot white halter top and floral skirt. If all goes well, she'll probably be a regular feature through the rest of the year once she's back in Kansas City.

And alongside Rishika is Nicole's mini-shoot on the east steps of the City Market, a few minutes she gave me after she renewed her parking.

The other contender for the cover was the two friends just sitting and chatting in the City Market. Which would've made for an interesting and purely spontaneous shot for the cover.

And speaking of friends, rounding out this issue is Isabel and Faith from a sunny afternoon at the City Market. Not realizing at the start that Isabel was alone, so it turned into a 2-for-1 when I was able to get shots of them together and Faith on her own.
